It’s called conditioning. They are 19 years old. Pretty sure they can run some sprints a few days before their game and be fine. They are almost professional athletes.
Yeah if it was me or you out there we might feel it. I promise they get their hard running in during off season and during season it’s maintained. What do you think track runners do????

I'll agree that we want our basketball team to be conditioned, but not warn out. If you start the game with fatigued muscles you have already given the opponent an advantage & increased your chances of injury. Also, that track comparison does work here because most runners train hard and then rest before the meets. Fresh legs win.
