I have two thermostats(upstairs and down). Nest is installed downstairs, and it works great. Upstairs I bought a Sensi thermostat, and I hate it. Only reason I bought it in the first place was because it didn't require a C_wire.
My in-laws Nest (not sure what version) has internal jumpers for several different configurations so a C wire isn't required.
