i feel like with your condition that you need to get back to the room in a reasonable time after the game, this is your best option.

get room in garden district/spanish town/somewhere not too far from downtown but not in ghetto.
drive over to downtown. plenty of safe parking
buy bus ticket.
uber to campus since the buses won't be running that early (i don't think). if they are, just take the bus.
bus back after the game.
drive to room.

i just don't think you're going to be able to avoid extra expenses trying to get on campus early, get back early. if you didn't have to get back on a schedule, you could do all that for much less expense.

another option, and this is what i have been doing for at least 10 years, is park north of campus. yes, it's the ghetto but, there will be PLENTY of people around going back to their cars so, safety in numbers as long as you choose your spot wisely. if you plan to hang out on campus for any amount of time after the game, nix that. you want to be walking back with everyone else. i can often find a free spot or at most, pay $20.

yeah.. my wife got us a spot at the Hilton a couple of years ago for the Kentucky game. It was my first LSU game since 2003.
Took the bus from downtown and back again after the game. Both times we immediately got on the bus and were off within 5 minutes.
Probably only 20 minutes ride after the game, and we were close to the last stop. I also had a pretty bad knee issue and should have been on crutches and there was nowhere to sit. Even with all that, I still feel like it was pretty painless process.
Much less so than parking by the student union on Fridays/camping/and driving out on saturday like we used to do.
Also cheap!
If this option is still available it's probably what I would utilize for any more trips.
