A lot of rounding on your part.

It's closer to 10 months a year worked and not 8.

The 250 you're neglecting does make a difference over the course of a month and there are 4.33 weeks in a month. Not 4. At any rate 30k is not a salary to be envious of. You can make that working at Olive garden

OKlahoma allows the teachers to join a union.

No union here in Mississippi and we do allright.

- 2.5 to 3 months off in the summer.

- Week or two for Christmas.

- Week for spring break.

- All other federal and state holidays.

School systems that do year round schooling have other breaks throughout the year built in to off-set not having a summer break.
