I retired before I was able to see a female Cavalry Squadron CSM or had to sit in a meeting with a female Scout Troop 1SG.
Oh lord you were Cav? You guys are fricking nuts. I thought infantry bubbas were crazy until I ran into your crew.

We definitely supported Army approved mental illness.
I started off in Army Infantry back in the mid 90s, switched to the Marine Corps in the late 90s (going back to boot camp again sucked), then switched back to the Army in 2005 because the Marine Corps had other plans than shooting bullets for me.
In order to keep my stripes, I had to put my future career field at the mercy of the Army. They only used my Marine Corps records for job placement which not surprisingly omitted Ranger School in ‘96 when I was assigned to I Corps LRS during my first Army enlistment.
Therefore I dropped into a Cavalry Scout OSUT as a Sergeant. The drills were cockbags so I just made myself small (they were trying to get all the inserts to teach classes and babysit the Privates). Got called a leg a few times and told that I didn’t know how to patrol, conduct PCC/PCIs, etc....and all the regular insults that Staff Sergeants like to throw at Sergeants switching services.
They brought us branch transfers to base admin to update our records and do our port calls (I was heading to Korea). So I brought my “Me-Book” to it and they updated all my training records and awards prior to graduation.
You should have see their faces when I showed up at graduation formation wearing all my flare (tab, wings, awards).
Was kinda funny. Had to show them the updated copy of my ERB after their disbelief. They were super pissed.
