Stellar thread title, bro. When I read "biology conference," I was expecting the presentation of scientific papers. Instead, here's the Youtube description:

quote:

On February 17, 2018, James Damore spoke at Portland State on a panel titled, "We Need to Talk About Diversity." He was joined by former Evergreen State biologist Heather E. Heying, PSU philosophy professor Peter Boghossian, and writer Helen Pluckrose. Bret Weinstein also made a cameo appearance. The event was organized by the Freethinkers of PSU, a skeptic student group.

As one of the organizers stated here, the event was "anticipated" (i.e. designed) to be controversial:

I'm fine with ridiculing the green hairs, but why do you have to package it in such a deceptive way?

ETA: They also didn't "shut down" the event. They disrupted it for about a minute according to the Williamette Week article. That is some concentrated lying for one thread title.

I love how you consider all those people "controversial," pretty sure there was a thread yesterday about this concept. God I didn't realize how effective propaganda was until these blue hairs came into existence
