No. More school resource officers, basically deputies or city police, should be assigned to schools.

If they knew that they had a semi-automatic rifle on burst and teachers were armed with handguns and not suspecting an attack? No.

It could. You have to keep in mind that not all teachers would want to carry a gun and others would be ill prepared to actually take aim at someone and pull the trigger.

Absolutely, if not secured properly. The same could be said outside of schools as well.
