Second, after further evaluation, it appears it is just Dave Aranda bringing in one of his guys.
He's clearly very smart and its a cheap analyst role. This is a good thing.

You're acting like I've said this isn't a good thing.
Multiple people in this thread have speculated that this hire was possibly due to his connection to a recruit. But that would be fricking idiotic considering that would preclude us from getting that recruit.
There are plenty of reasons we could be hiring this guy, and plenty of reasons it could be a great hire. But connection to Garden City recruit, by necessity, is not one of them.
