Only $5-10k for startup costs though. The financial barrier to entry for a potential franchisee is essentially nil. No minimum net worth. The company pays for everything then leases it back to you.

I think the managers make about that much, but the franchisees make much more.

I've wondered about this. I do think it varies pretty widely depending on the success of the store. I don't know if true but an owner I know indicated one time that he was closer to $300k. He was drunk when he said it though. His store would definitely be in the top half of stores based on his location.
