Popular streamers rake in tons of donations. Most are like $1-$5 but if you have thousands of people watching you it adds up fast. It's not uncommon for these fake girl gamers to get large donations occasionally too.
In addition, they get money by simply having viewers (every time an ad plays they get paid based on how many viewers see it). Same story with youtube vids.
If you get popular enough you get sponsors and stuff, another revenue source.
Fake gamer girls have become quite a thing over the past few years. I'm gonna guess 90%+ of people watching Twitch are young males (say 16-35), a large chunk of which are socially awkward and don't interact that much in their real live with females.
I find these streams absolutely intolerable but i just don't watch them. I don't hate on the girls, it's smart on their part. I shake my head at the socially awkward betas who are the reason they exist in the first place.

Wish they paid good looking guys to stream. I may average more than four bots if that were the case.
