If you are planning on drinking a lot with co workers .... buy your booze at duty free on the way into town .I like to stay at the Marina or even better JBR. Don’t rent a car taxis are dirt cheap.

If you have free time I’d go down to old Dubai by the creek, check out the gold souk and walk around.
