While I do agree that going for the TD is a slightly better decision in the long haul, there's a 100% chance that had he gone for the TD and failed every single person on the planet would have been screaming how 'stupid' it was to not kick the FG.

And if ya'lls defense had held, nobody would have ever questioned his FG kick.

People tend to be very results oriented.

I agree but this is besides the point. His decision shouldn't be based on how it'll play out to the fans or the media. Someone earlier mentioned Belichick's 4th and 4 play in his own territory a few years back. You think Belichick gives one damn about criticism?

On the other hand, we know Orgeron cares about criticism because he admitted it earlier this year during the Rece Davis interview on ESPN. Just another reason why he won't ever take the next step as a HC.
