Dog House Build

Posted pics in a thread on the OT. Thought some here might be interested.
Note: I am no carpenter. I learn from mistakes I make and can see many in the pics here. But the house is solid and looks good and the dogs like it.
Pic 1 - 4x4 posts. Dog house attaches to double kennel. Cement slab has 4 drains in case I ever want to separate into 2 kennels.
Pic 2 - Starting to skin outside of the dog house. Used treated landscaping timbers which had been ripped. (2 boards from each timber) Wanted it to have a log cabin look.
Pic 3 - Timbers on front side.
Pic 4 - Inside of dog house. Separated into front and back. Back room is insulated. Can see the foam board in the very back.
Pic 5 - Double insulated walls for the back room.
Pic 6 - Dogs in front room which is open front. A box fan is mounted in ceiling above to provide air flow in summer. House is near completion at this point.
Pic 7 - Shows opening to back room. Basically a small insulated box with a 3 foot space between it and the roof.
Pic 8 - Getting started on lean to roof. Roof is also anchored into the retaining wall.
Pic 9 - About to screw plywood to roof. Roof was shingled with same shingles as house.
Pic 10 - Dogs have their own pool inside the kennel.
Pic 11 - Sitting in doghouse listening to the rain.
I also have 2 lights inside the dog house to help during cold weather. Can see the temporary extension cord that is now hidden for electricity. Plan on running a line to the house this summer and removing the extension cord. During winter I cover the front opening with burlap as well.
ETA: 4 drains equals one drain on each side to a septic system for washing out the kennel. Another drain on each side that prevents standing water during rains.

I didn't go as fancy as you, but I built a 4x8 dog house with a wind wall, and insulation and electricity for my dogs.

I built a nice dog house for my two dogs and filled it with hay. They get in it when it gets cold but will sit outside in the rain. I put their old dogloo out in the yard and they choose it over the nice, hay filled house I built for them

That is nice! Do you have gutters on that side of the house to keep the rain from running onto the doghouse roof and into the kennel?

Damn! and people here think I over did it with mine! The house I built is just 4' x 4' with a wind wall. It's the second one I've built for mine. First one was in a bad location in the yard and the floor ended up rotting out. Rebuilt in a better location, under the only tree in the back yard and the pups couldn't be happier. Put a hinge on the back side so that I can lift the roof and clean out any wood shavings or hay I put in there in the winter to keep them warm, which has probably been the best thing I did when building this house

That red brick wall is a retaining wall that separates my driveway from the back yard.
