So many people confused on this.
Challenger = 30+ years ago. Blew up on lift off into a giant white cloud of smoke on international TV. Had school teacher Terry McAuliffe on the flight. Happened at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Columbia = Burned up on re entry due to missing heat tiles. Flames got into wing and made contact with combustibles (oxygen tanks and fuel) resulting in explosion over TX and LA border.
