The old system where high-school graduates could immediately enter the NBA if they’re ready was obviously superior and elevated college basketball and her rivalries as well as further develop budding players who didn’t reach that level of competence yet. Winner for all parties.
yeah nothing elevates college basketball quite like not having the top 10 or so players in the age group every year

Yah I explicitly said "if they're ready" doesn't mean every top 10 HS graduating senior every season is gonna enter the draft, hasn't happened before and, if they rescind this illogical and nonsensical rule, probably won't happen subsequently. College basketball returns to her brand of basketball and system that was represented first-half of last decade and the preceding decades BOOM no downside there hell we'll probably be able to observe some awesome player-to-player in-conference rivalries like we did with Laettner-Hurley-Hill/Montross-Lynch-Williams UNC/Duke in the early 1990s, compelling stuff.

The point is this rule doesn't make any sense, if you're ready to play straight-up NBA basketball out of high school whether you're Moses Malone, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwight Howard etc you shouldn't have to wait a year until you turn 19 to enter the real Association not that G-League crap and it bastardizes college basketball to becoming a glorified halfway one year house as opposed to the original intent of NCAA college basketball that was represented by cats such as Lew Alcindor, Elvin Hayes, Ralph Sampson, Michael Jordan, that 1983 North Carolina State team, etc. Many multi-million dollar jobs in America don't require college and NBA basketball since Kobe didn't either until this "one and done" rule (I'm aware of the fluctuation of this rule in the history of the NBA).
