When is Atlanta going to grow up and get a second airport like regular major cities?

As soon as the world's busiest airport is no longer the model of operational efficiency and cost.

Three simultaneous arrivals even in Cat II conditions? While still departing off of two inboard runways? O'Hare has 5 parallels, and a sixth useble runway if you count 4R/22L in west flow, but they can't seem to get out of their own way because of the number of runway crossings required because.....

Arrivals on 10/28 have a long taxi, I'll grant you that, but anything coming onto the 8/26 pair has the end around taxiway on the west side, never have to stop to cross an active runway.

Nobody gives one s*** how many planes pass through your airport when they are scheduled 30 minutes longer to account for all that taxiing time.

That is not an ATL thing, it is an industry thing. Delta and United both pad their block times network wide. Just compare block to flown on any route (flightaware.com). Look at Southwest, JetBlue, or even Spirit at ATL. Their block time allowance for taxi are no different than anywhere else.

I will fly whoever is cheapest and most direct. I do hate American... There is always some issue on their flights such as way late, lost luggage and really old, shitty planes... but living in Dallas they are hard to avoid. I like Virgin but they are on the way out.
