Yes, it is bloated. But to imply everything would be just hunkey dorey without fedgov is ridiculous.

What he said is completely correct. The basic services one needs on a daily basis are generally provided by your municipal, county and state governments.

Which services do you think fedgov provides that we couldnt do without?

I think military and disaster relief are the only two I can think of.

Maybe air traffic control and infrastructure support for major projects, but theres really no need for them to be the sole provider of such things.
