I can honestly say as a child this loss would have absolutely devastated me. Crushed. My whole life revolved around the Saints when I was a kid.

I stood outside in line at Soundtrek to get tickets to the Eagles playoff game in 92. I was a young teen at the time and will never forget the heartache watching us choke away the 4th quarter of that game.

I remember as a young kid just being devastated by some of our late-game collapses against the 49ers, Rams and Falcons.

I feel for these kids. It truly hurts and they don't understand or know how to process that.

As an adult, it still hurts but I have grown up concerns to distract me.

Like Gus said in Lonesome Dove, sometimes the best thing you can do with death (or a Saints collapse) is ride off from it.

Man, I can warmly remember the pure jubilation I felt after the conference realignment to know that we didn't have to play the 9ers twice a year every year.

Those were some really good Saints teams in the late 80s, very early 90s. But, the 9ers always spoiled the fun.
