If I was a parent I would tell her she needs to try because she really could make it and its a once and a lifetime opportunity. It would still hurt to think what could have been
With that said, maybe its too much on her body and she's ready to move on. I can understand it, its very difficult to have to deal with. She has dealt with major shoulder problems
An elite career is as brutal as one could face. If you are lucky to escape an elite career without a major injury you would be very lucky

Didn’t TT just join her high school diving team? Honestly she seems kinda all over the place...hope she makes the right choice for her, not one she feels pressured to make by those close to her
