O has not failed here. He has not fed some peoples delusional expectations, but he has not failed.
So has fulfilled any positive non delusional expectations? I am sorry but 10 wins at LSU is not a delusional expectation.
Hiring qualified coaches is another non delusional expectation.
Having a top 10 recruiting class is another non delusional expectation.
Exciting the fan base and wanting them to attend games is another non delusional expectation.
Knowing who the starting players is not another non delusional expectation.
Not meddling in the offense like you promised you wouldnt, when clearly this was your downfall in previous jobs is not a delusional expectation.
O has failed, face the facts and move on. lets give someone else a chance.

quote:I agree. He hired a highly qualified OC. That didn’t work out for all sorts of widely speculated reasons. But rather than spending a couple more seasons simmering in a lingering destructive feud, they both acted like grown ups and cut the relationship. I’d call that doing the hard thing decisively. You’d call it a fail. Fine.
Hiring qualified coaches is another non delusional expectation.
He hired Ensminger. Good/Bad remains to be seen. Canada critics have been quick to point out that SE had better stats in 2016 than MC did in 2017. Qualified? SE has been on the staff a lot of years. He’s not been OC anywhere for a long time.
Will he be a flash in the pan? Doubtful.
Will he help stabilize and change a very weak QB development culture? Hopefully yes.
Can he get the job done in a steady, if not flashy manner? Most surely.
Will all LSU fans be satisfied? Not likely.
Have all LSU fans ever been satisfied with anyone or anything? Never.
So let’s chill and let things play out next season. It will quickly jell or unravel then.
