JBEdwards does not need to raise taxes. When I was a state Senator under Edwin Edwards, one Tuesday morning at 8:00am we were gathering for coffee before the committees started hearings at 9:00. Edwin Edwards walked in and told 7 of us that were gathered for the meeting that we were in a deficit and had to cut the Budget 300 million now. So we met and went through the Budget and cut it 300 mil. We cut things that were not necessary. A week later he came back and told us to cut another 200 million to balance the budget. A total of 500 Million was cut with no craziness on TV. We just did our job. JBE does not have the guts to do that.
