When there first started to be serious indications of wanting to get rid of Miles, one of my good friends was among those who really wanted to see this happen. I told him to careful what you wish for my friend. Told him when Miles was let go the next year that I would bet him, that no matter who coached for us the next 10-11 years, they would not match what was achieved in Miles's tenure here at LSU. And they may not even come close.
Looking more like a solid bet all the time.

I really don't get all the continued hate displayed for Miles. He achieved more than any other coach in LSU history by just about any measure. I've met the man and broke bread with him. He is a strong family man, and his biggest fault is probably his sense of loyalty. Like someone else said, he's been gone from the program for nearly two years. Let it rest, got plenty of other things to bitch about if you looking to do that. Maybe after the next nine years pass, most people will recognize what he achieved here.

Very good odds on that bet.
I wasn't even comfortable with the Jimbo attempt, and would've preferred a Saban defensive disciple (pre-Arranda).
After Miles stole Arranda and then got fired, I was hoping for a great offensive mind to compliment the DC.

Here we are today with a DL coach? FML, uggh.
