It's my favorite system right now. I'm a huge Sony fan and still love my PS4, it's probably the best overall console this gen for sure. But I since I got the switch in March, I've only gone to the PS4 a handful of times, for Fortnite, and a Bloodborne replay.
Part of this is that Nintendo has more than a couple 100+ (200+ if you count Zelda) games out that are very rewarding to play for long periods, I put 100 hours in a MARIO game, that's unreal. 215 hrs in Zelda, pushing 40 at Xenoblade and I just got it a week ago, and even a good bit into Splatoon/Mario Kart/Arms/Stardew Valley.
The other part is the portability factor. I'm getting more gaming time in the bed, and also while the wife or kids watch the TV here and there.
Future is bright for the switch. I can't wait for Metroid, and the inevitable Zelda/Mario sequel, and all the other first party stuff.
The you have Bethesda on board, Square, etc. From the beginning. The rate of consoles being sold will get other third parties to come over for sure.
It's also the perfect platform for indie games and retro style games.
Golf Story is an amazing old school RPG, and Stardew Valley on the switch is the definitive way to play that game.

I only wish that my Switch had grabbed my attention like it has grabbed yours. The last few months of 2017 had some good games though.
