The interesting thing with this report is that it really makes it look like O has been the reasonable actor in all of this.

2 things I see that hurt O and ultimately the program are this:
He is a HC with no equity. He has limited power, influence and respect due to his prior history. Some will say that's good, but he has to have the authority and respect to make some of these decisions otherwise he shouldn't be the HC.

The second is he has struggled to control the narrative with the media. Poorly worded statements have fueled too much speculation. He is not getting out in front of any of the rumors and it hurts him and LSU. It affects program image and will affect recruiting. Also, Alleva has made no attempt to help him in this regard and has left him dangling in the wind.

If they do fix the OC situation and get a solid hire, these two things need to be addressed or issues will continue.

I don't know what he thought he signed up for.

It's kind of like the idiom "born on third base and thought he hit a triple." O was gifted this job without earning it, now he expects to be treated as if he accomplished something? Of course he has limited power. He was put there to be controlled.

A HC should have a great deal of power. But they clearly don't respect him enough to give him carte blanche like a respected coach would get. It's all why he was a bad idea in the first place.
