Just read story.. as a patriots hater i find it very odd. The whole thing was just kind of weird. Bradys trainer seems like a bad person for Tom to be around though who isnt in it for Toms best interest. I can see why belichek didnt want him around. It just seems to me that as tom nears the end of his career he doesnt want to face the fact that he is getting older and going to have to give it up, and believes he can play forever. Brady is one of the best qbs we have ever seen.... but i also believe he would have never won all those superbowls without belichek. Bill knows the reality, and knew that jimmy G was the future and Toms time is closing. Brady just couldnt accept the facts and used his legend figure to push jimmy out.

You're wrong on Tom being in denial and not facing facts. When asked about Eli's benching, he said something to the effect of how you really don't get fairy tale endings in sports and it almost always ends ugly for old players. So, he knows what's up. But, I do agree with you to the extent that he anticipated an awkward QB competition/benching, he may have put on the power move.
