There was a thread of people arguing about if or did star wars take a step back in its cultural popularity and the star wars episode essentially confirms there was a "dark period" where kids didnt buy or care about star wars. Pretty good episode.

Yes, Star Wars toys were pretty much nowhere to be found from around 1987 through about 1995.
