Funny reading through this thread, because I actually got fit into the M4 earlier this week.
Full disclosure: I’m about a 13 cap that battles constantly with over the top due to many years of competitive tennis muscle memory. I had a SLDR fit back in 2014 bc my distance needed improvement.
I actually went to two separate fitters here in Scottsdale. Ultimately it came down to two heads: the M4 or the Epic. I hit Ping, Cobra, rogue, but those two felt the best. The fitting was an hour and a half and as you all know, it’s all about the shaft.
Chris Ferguson at Hot Stix made me choose what I liked the best, and the reality is that my misses were much less penalizing w the M4.
Lately, I just have had trouble w my driver costing penalties while my irons and wedges have been the best they’ve ever been. (Desert golf really can be tough out of the box)
So, I feel like my swing is consistent enough for the new driver fitting. I should get it in about a week and I’ll give it a month to report back.
All this being said—I really wanted to move away from Taylor Made drivers bc I never really loved the sound or feel of the SLDR.

Hopefully it works for you! I might give them a hit one more time. I really wanted to get behind it, but yeh, first time was rough
