Property taxes are quite a bit higher in Tennessee vs LA. As is sales tax.

We still pay taxes. We just don’t have a state income tax.

I'm not arguing that LA is a better place to live than TN or TX, it's not. But the tax argument is overplayed. This is a few years old but LA 7.6%, TX 7.6%, TN 7.3%
