I had 6 siblings and we all moved back in over the years for 30-60 days between apartments, undergrad, jobs, houses etc...and all loved it. Free rent, hot showers, free laundry and we all would buy food. Once in awhile 2-3 siblings or just 1 depending on circumstances. Parents loved it as did we. We never wore out our welcome and knew when it was time to move on. All of us turned out to be productive members of society as well as homeowners. It was actually nice to live and be together as adults for a time.

My kids are welcome to have the same relationship, come and go as you please. I built a house big enough for that so I’m not bothered. As long as they are in school or working and being productive we are good. That was my parents requirement as well. Moving forward and they helped as will I. Mooch and your out but I don’t have to worry about that - my kids are productive.

I bought my first house when I was 23 and told my friends I could drink beer there instead of a barroom and it paid off. Saving while living with them helped a lot.
