It is a fair analogy. I think history has shown many of these feel good interim/hire from within hires typically flame out fairly quickly after the honeymoon is over.

Dabo has proven to be one of the exceptions. And his manner and personality is similar to O's.

So yes, the hope is O can do the same. I certainly hope so.

Their backgrounds couldn’t be more dissimilar.

Dabo played and won a national Championship for the most storied program in CFB. He had never been a HC and was 38 when he took over a program that hadn’t won a conference title in 20 years.

O played at Natchitoches, had one of the worst tenures as HC in Ole Miss history, and at 56 took over a program that won the SEC five years earlier and won four in the past 15 years and won two NCs and played for another.

One of the hires at least made some sense. One didn’t.

no its not.
from 2000-2016 lsu had more top 10 finishes than Clemson had from its inception as a program to hiring dabo.
stop equating clemsom wheb they hired dabo to lsu when we hired O. its not remotely the same.

An extreme exception. And he didn't make Clemson elite overnight. Clemsoning became a verb under his watch. It took him 4+ years before he finished in the top 10 (after beating us in Atlanta). Even longer before being a legitimate national championship contender.

Regardless of what your opinion on O is, I'm not sure if our fanbase will be as patient. I don't believe this program should necessarily be that patient either.
