Yeah, if you're working downtown, the commute from eastern shore may be rough dealing with the bridge. I'd love to retire to Fairhope, or move down there when I have a few years of working left. I'm definitely in Bham for the long haul, but once my kids are all grown it would be a nice change of pace.
Fairhope still has that small town feel. But close enough to beaches and city life if you want that.
