I know someone who has one of these:
Hayward 400k BTU natural gas/propane heater
Told it heats 2-3 degrees/hour for about a 15,000 gal. pool. Also heard that if left on for a month, about $900-$1000 gas bill; and a visit from the gas company thinking there is a leak because "no one ever uses that much."
