And if he works out he'll stick around for a while longer than the current 2-3 yrs. Saban sounds like he's "getting to old for this shite," so stability for the next 5 yrs is what he's searching for I'm sure.

Saban has never hired an established DC long term, at least since coming to the SEC in 2000. Phil Elimissian was DC at LSU in 2000 but he was grooming Muschamp from 2001 onward. When he came to Alabama he was grooming Smart from 2007 onward. Promoting him to DC in 2008.

Coaching staff stability is something he’s never had. Guys are leaving every year. I don’t think there’s been one season in 11 years at Alabama where there wasn’t at least 2 new assistants.
