The system back then was pretty strange from what I remember...

In '81-'82, my senior year, I remember Rummel only losing to Jesuit 20-17 and Holy Cross 22-21, and not making the playoffs.

Not like today with playoff seeds... Well, before they screwed it up with the split..

yeah back then it was a numerical rotation based on bi district round - ie the district next to yours by champ and runner ups led to some epic playoff matchups early and not just in NO... had mike toups not gotten hurt shaw would have been in the 81 playoffs.. not hc or jesuit...
