No one is saying 3 star players can't be elite players but most don't end up that way, there are some exceptions but I will continue to stick to the 4 and 5 star players

Generally 5* guys mature early but some reach their peak in HS or shortly after. Lots of 3* guys have the speed and football IQ, but not the weight or experience they need at the next level just yet.

Debo came on board and was developed nicely, and was a solid contributor...leading up to one good/big year. He was a sleeper in the draft and continued to develop.

Peterson was a 5 star recruit, he came in and gave us immediate playing time as a freshman. Two amazing years as a lock down corner and return guy. Was a first round pick and an immediate starter in the NFL.


Not everyone that wants to see highly rated recruits is a 'star gazer'.
