People in Baton Rouge can't drive on sunny days in the summer, let alone when there is slush/sleet on the roads. If the weather is going to be nasty in the morning and closing schools keeps the kids at home and safe and off the streets, then I have no problem with it.

Seriously. Driving through Pearl River is terrible with all the school buses. There are no bus stops anymore. The buses literally stop in front of every kid's house to pick them up.
