amazon's intercom is a better product at the moment.

you say 'drop in on henry's dot' and the dot turns GREEN and opens a live connection so you and the person with the dot at the other end can just talk to each other; not to all dots. when you're done, just say 'alexa cancel' and if the dot is within sight, you can tell the connection is closed because its no longer pulsing green.

we have a big house with all the bedrooms at one end (4 kids) and my son has a basement bedroom so we'd never get all the kids to dinner at the same time without this.

eta amazon echo dots have been $29 at Target, Walmart, Home Depot and I'm not sure where else for like 3 weeks now so I don't think they're going this 'in response' to google dropping their price.
