yea. money grows on trees. in the real world, going "all in" is different from the fantasy world. if going "all in" is offering a 10 contract I think LSU would have been irresponsible and negligent in doing so. it is no just a risky move, it's an EXTREMELY risky move. LSU would have been locked in no matter the circumstances and believe me the circumstances can change in 10 years. a perfect example is Les Miles allowing the program to decline by not firing his friends and allowing our offense to die on the vine.

We had a chance for Herman, he wanted around 6 million for 5 years, but Alleva avoiding a bidding war with Texas

that's a huge oversimplification. tejas derailed our process by quickly firing Strong because they KNEW Herman wanted to be their coach. why continue negotiations with a guy who wants to be elsewhere. it is a monumental waste of time. you would know that if you ever hired people.

What did Arkansas do differently when their main target was off the table? They gathered themselves and moved down the list and interviewed Leach today.

arky hasn't even hired anyone yet and you ASSUME they are doing better than LSU. AND you assume Leach is the man we should have pursued. I, for one, do not like Leach and do not think he would be a great hire for LSU. you do. fine. but to assume he is great doesn't make it so.

I hope Orgeron does well,

personally, I don't believe you.

finally, we agree on something. O will get a couple of more years to prove he's the man. Alleva would retire anyways but i'm sure the big money boosters would want a new AD to select his successor.
