Terrific post Scoob.
I tried to warn people last year that Fisher is just another good coach at best and at least 25 coaches couldve won a ton of games at Fla St given the scenario he was handed.
Jimbo was never the answer for LSU.
He won when he had Winston and both Florida and Miami were struggling. This gave him 2 wins a season and a recruiting edge in his home state, which is arguably the best in the land. He took over for Bobby Bowden and was handed a gold mine.
He also coached in the easiest P5 conference at the time and was a double digit favorite in almost every game. But yet he was going to come into the SEC west and beat Saban, somehow.
Even with all these built in advantages especially the recruiting edge, he still let Clemson and arguably a couple of basketball schools catch up.
6th is the ACC Atlantic... Fla St!! Thats beyond comprehension for a $7.5 million dollar coach at Fla st and in the ACC.
Make any excuse you want for him, he was not and is not the answer at LSU. Being far away from Bama and another great recruiting state, Texas, gives him and many others a chance to build something. But he wasnt going to get it done at LSU.
