AMEN BROTHER!!! I realize there's a certain amount of excitement and fanfare when a team signs a bunch of top 100 players, but there's plenty of lower ranked players coming out of high school every year that will prove to be just as good, if not better, than those ranked higher than them. Coaches and recruiters who can accurately evaluate a player's potential will get a lot of the lower ranked players who turn out to be good football players and NFL prospects. I think LSU has done a good job evaluating most of the players committed right now.

Yes - that may be correct with some of the recruits. But even those schools produce NFL players

Star ratings. Look at the comparison percentage of players that go to the NFL for 5 vs 4 vs 3 star players. 5 and 4 star players are significantly higher than 3 star players.

Offer list can be very misleading. Multiple elite teams can offer three star players but they do it has a second or third choice if their higher ranked prospects does not work out. Then they can fall back to a lower ranked individual.

Stars matter
quote:

In summation, five years of NFL draft data show that a higher recruiting star rating is associated with:
1. A better chance of getting drafted in the first place
2. Getting picked earlier in the draft
3. A greater chance that a drafted player will appear in an NFL game
4. Greater production once a player reaches the NFL.
