While I do wish he’d have used a little more tact, I know it’s Trump we’re talking about here and he lacks tact, but he is 100% right.

He's not.
Orchestrating the release of Liangelo Ball was either the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do.
If he felt it was the right thing to do when he did it, what does it matter if he got a thank you from Lavar Ball? The actual subject of this whole ordeal, Liangelo, has expressed thanks, which seems to go completely ignored. So what's the big deal? He didn't get a complete stroke of his ego so all of a sudden he shouldn't have done it?
You guys all know what a messed up, narcissistic belief system under which Trump is operating but you refuse to admit it for some reason. If he thought Ball was a hardened criminal, let him rot in the jail. If not let him out and be done with it. It being the right thing to do doesn't change based on if you get a thank you from the father.
