Did someone just hack my computer?

I was just sitting on my couch with my laptop sitting on the table in front of me open with internet explorer open. I wasn't browsing anything at the time. I notice out the corner of my eye that my mouse is moving all over the screen. It sure looked like someone had taken control of my computer. I hit ctrl/alt/delete and shutdown my computer. I waited a minute or two and turned it back on. Did someone hack into my computer?
Is there a way that I could check if my computer was hacked?
What are the chances Chicken did it? TD was open when it happened?

Probably won't help, but, fwiw, I have a Desktop that I have seen the exact same thing as you've described. I even thought the same as you. The whole mouse cursor just kinda randomly jumping around the screen, apps being opened, etc.
Now, I'm not 100% on this, but recently as I was actually using the computer, it began doing these things. Lo and behold, it was a gnat! The sucker was landing on the screen and everywhere it touched the mouse moved and even opened an app.
Obviously, this is a touchscreen monitor. HP Desktop to be a little more specific.
So, who knows...like I said, I'm not 100%, but I have actually seen a bug doing work!

Thanks did that. Nothing has happened since I turned my computer back on.
Also my laptop doesn’t have a touch screen.

I always plug a mouse into my laptops, I don't use the mouse pad that's built. Since it doesn't get used, it gets dusty a lot. I've noticed sometimes when it does get dusty, it does odd things like that, could it be something like this?

To be hacked you have to have a reason for someone to want to get in Badly.
You have to have someone you know with the ability to find your IP, scan open ports, get last your router and log in.
If I had to guess you just need to clean the laser light on the bottom of your mouse with a wet qtip.
Next time relax and see what the current does before turning it off.

Exactly, he's getting remote desktop confused with having an intruder take over his PC from the back end, which obviously does not show mouse control.
