Last I heard, theory was that if we can turn on a form of Telomerase that other species have, we may be able to slow/prevent the telomere shortening.
That would be a monumental achievement though. Beyond anything we’ve ever done in human history.

This is not true.
Like all things tied to genetics, it's hyperbole and full of empty promises and failed prognostications.
Genetics is the short bus of science.
