I think you are a pretty good poster so I hope you don't catch a round from about 650 yds... 
I trick I learned to sniff out BSers is when they say something specific (a mistake), ask them to repeat it, or repeat it back and have them confirm. it. Then kind of furrow your brow and give them the "hmmm". Usually makes them nervous. If it is truly a lie and you get the facts, let them have it.
