Everyone watching this basketball team tonight has to be impressed

Yes, its 1 game and they're beating up on a SWAC team that Johnny's squad last year would probably beat by 15-20, but, given the bugaboos that have plagued this program going back to the mid 90s...
The defensive intensity is beyond encouraging. No hands down, no dishonest breakdowns, ball pressre, rotating, extending, showing multiple looks...we know Wade's blueprint, and clearly these guys have bought in. There are kids from all over the country and world playing for this team, and you'd think watching them that they're all from BR the way they are playing for one another.
The inside-out play and ball movement is effective. Let's hope they keep evolving and find a comfort zone in Wade's playbook. Waters looks to be for real and Mays' play making skills look better.
Wade's intensity is off the charts. And his staff is just as juiced. (Who else saw him have to calm Heiar down during a timeout?
) Like someone else said, he's def getting tossed this year
)
Still expect to lose into the teens, but it's so nice to watch what i think we all know is a major shift in this program's culture. I think that's what most of us expect this year W-L's aside: see the moribund culture die off, and see a successful program built from the grassroots.
Btw, crowd was great tonight. Wish I could have been there.

I only watched less than 5 minutes of 2 games last year. I hated that. It feels good to see hope.

I know it’s only game one but how dominant a player would Simmons have been with this coach? We actually ran plays. Excited about the future

I was impressed that they actually had a plan on offense.
And the D was all over. Yea, you may give up a back door or drive being aggressive, but they played hard.
Awesome to see!

A LSU team that actually runs an offense and plays hustling defense. Haven't seen that in a while.

Very impressed. Lots of hard work, ball movement, unselfishness, good players, playing the game the way it ought to be played. It’s going to be fun this year. They’ll be tested in a lot of games, and if they play with the same effort they played with tonight, they’ll pass a few of those tests.

If this team makes it to tourney, imagine next year.
The studs will buy in that are incoming and this will be special

A Johnny Jones coached team would have been lucky to win tonight. This team has a real chance to go 9 and 9 in the SEC with an NIT invitation. What a difference a year (and a coach) makes. GEAUX Will Wade!

I love the effort ! Will Wade has a plan and the energy. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish this season.
