Cardinals don't pay closers big $$, so i doubt they pay him closer cash.

Would like to see them make a deal with Rays for Archer/Colome.

When it is just one source or two sure, but when literally every single person around Holland and the Cards including Mo himself say they are signing him...hard to ignore regardless of the past. Surprised you don't know this actually, came out like a week ago he was our #1 offseason target.

We gave a RP $30.5m last year and he wasn't a closer.

The predicted deal for Holland is 4 years 50m to STL from MLBTradeRumors, and 3 years 39m to STL from NYDailyNews.

NYDailyNews also has Moustakas to STL on a 5 year 90m deal, but they are the only one that his him to STL, whereas everyone has Holland to STL, and a few have Wade Davis if not Holland. Either way, we're paying for a closer this offseason.

The Cardinals are expected to pursue right-hander Greg Holland in free agency once he formally declines his player option, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale tweets. It’s hardly a surprise to see the two sides linked, as the bullpen is known to be a focal point for the Cardinals and president of baseball operations John Mozeliak this offseason. Nightengale notes that the Cards “plan to pounce” on Holland once he’s actually a free agent, though certainly the intensity of their pursuit will be tied to the asking price of Holland and agent Scott Boras.
