No 10 year wait. They did want the three groups to link up. Problem is the bears near the gulf were from Minnesota or such. They also are the least likely group to meet up. I saw 7 a couple of months ago in Madison Parish in a 26 hour time period. There’s just a lot of bears.

Scientific data was also overlooked when they were protected. Not much difference between the Arkansas Hill bear and Louisiana bear. Soon they’ll interbreed.

That's what I thought.

And it's not that they wanted the 3 groups to link up. That was a requirement for delisting.

The genetics throughout the population are pretty screwy.
