People who are bussed in do not take pride in the neighborhood or community the same way as the residents.

This is basic human nature.

It's not racism or elitism. If I work hard all year to upkeep my neighborhood and build relationships with my neighbors, I'm not going to be ecstatic when outsiders who did nothing to improve my neighborhood come in once a year to reap the benefits.

Actually, "basic" human nature is to take care of people. What you're doing is "taught" behavior (not taking care of those less fortunate.) So, these outsiders ruin the upkeep of your neighborhood and your relationships with your neighbors? And whoa, those outsiders reaping those huge 20 cents worth of candy benefits. I hope it doesn't break your elite hood.

This is incorrect. Humans are inherently tribal in nature.

They often leave trash around, park/drive in the grass, hide in bushes, are loud/not kid friendly, clog up the roads because they drive instead of walk etc. They don't have pride in the neighborhood because they don't live there, not because they're bad people.

Take a step back from your knee jerk emotional argument and you can see why residents don't like bussing people into neighborhoods.
