Thinking about hitting up the Isle this weekend or next. Looking for Reds and Specs of course. Also looking to find a few flounder. Will probably stay at Bridgeside. Any advice on hot baits and general locations at the moment?

Went down last weekend. Water was high and wind was whipping but we were able to find some decently clean water in the marsh behind the island.

White Trout were everywhere, picked up probably 130 or so. Some were smaller so we threw them back, but still fun.

Ran into some nice size specs when the wind calmed down on Sunday late morning. They were also back in the shallow ponds. We didn't try the bay for trout due to the chop.

Mainly targeted Redfish, and found them. Pickup up 3 man limit both days.

Trout: Top Water, Cocahoe under cork caught the largest one (20"), Matrix shad with or without cork (Shrimp Creole, Limbo Slice & Lemonhead)

Redfish: Water was high so they were deep in the marsh. Had some great blowups on the top water but I really had to work it (worth it IMO). I didn't have much luck with spinner baits. Cocahoe under-cork up against the marsh worked well too.

The wind looks nasty this weekend but I am headed down again anyway.

Edit* General Location: Ran around the marsh behind Chenier to find protection from the wind. Slipped into the ponds that looked "fishy"

Good luck
