Philosophy should be a daily class grades 6 thru 12.
ETA: To answer your question, teaching people philosophy would make many abandon materialism and hurt the consumer economy.

I was once asked that, if I could instantly download the contents of any three books into the minds of everyone on the planet, what they would be. Top of my list was my Introduction to Logic textbook from undergrad.
